"The Doctrine Lives Loudly Within Us" A site to discuss the ongoing crisis in the Church. These are serious times, but sometimes there's humor to be found even in the midst of crisis! Your comments are welcome. Contact us using the button below.
In an earlier video, CCM contributor Hank Igitur offered a startlingly effective solution to the priest shortage in the Amazon Basin. If the hierarchy adopted his revolutionary idea,** there might not even be a need to have the Amazon Synod in the first place!
Well, as you might imagine, there has been considerable feedback on this radical idea. In this latest video, Hank recaps some of the more interesting comments he’s received!
**The radical idea: send missionaries. I know! Crazy, right?
Frustrated by the ambiguous pronouncements coming from Rome? Worried that this never-ending parade of synods has the potential to play havoc with the true teachings of the Church? Concerned that Pope Francis might be saying some stuff which simply doesn’t square with two thousand years of consistent Church teaching?
Yeah, us too. Hank Igitur’s been reading a new book by Dr. Taylor Marshall which does a pretty decent job of putting this whole situation into a long-term historical perspective. He offers a strategy for prayerfully (and charitably) dealing with this crisis. Hank’s 100% onboard with this approach and he’s willing to explain it to you in (possibly tedious) detail!

Infiltration: The Plot to Destroy the Catholic Church From Within by Dr. Taylor Marshall is available at Amazon.com or through Sophia Institute Press. The book makes a pretty darn solid case that our present crisis doesn’t have its beginning with the election of Pope Francis, the suppression of the Latin Mass in the late ’60’s/early ’70’s, or even the Vatican II! The crisis began well over a century earlier. Fascinating stuff!
The document Hank mentions which can help you cut through some of the confusion when it comes to getting the real deal on Church doctrine is this: “Declaration of the Truths Relating to Some of the Most Common Errors in the Life of the Church of Our Time.” It’s only eight pages but it gives you an easy to read no-nonsense summary of authentic Church teaching, clearing up some points that might have become, umm, well–a tad murky let’s just say–over the past few years.
The semi-annual USCCB meeting of American bishops concluded recently. The news from their conference could have been more encouraging, certainly. You may be annoyed with the USCCB, bishops in general, and perhaps even your bishop in particular.
That doesn’t mean, however, that we should neglect praying for them.
Pedro de la Cruz composed the following beautiful prayer for CatholicPrayerCards.org:
Most Glorious God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we pray for our Bishop, N.
May he and all of the bishops, in union with the Holy Father, remain steadfast in defending the Catholic Church from the moral errors of our day. Help them speak boldly against all who have tried to corrupt the Church and those who have spread the contagion of the world amongst your flock.
Give them strength to oppose, with great vigor, the terrible abuses which have wounded and scandalized the faithful. May our apostolic shepherds proclaim, with a unified and prophetic voice, the truth about the dignity of each human life, the sanctity of sacramental marriage, the blessing o life-giving conjugal love, and all issues that the Church has championed throughout the centuries.
Strengthen them to preach with fiery conviction against all forms of abuse, corruption, and perversion. May they lead your Church to healing and reform through transparency and fidelity. With unwavering courage, may they imitate Christ, and lay down their lives for their sheep. Keep them faithful to the end, like so many holy saints and martyrs of the Church, who have shepherded the people of God with crosier in hand.
O Mary, Virgin Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, hold all bishops close to your Immaculate Heart!
Amen.
You can order prayer cards with this prayer from CatholicPrayerCards.org. (As you might guess, they have a wide selection of other prayer cards as well!)
We’ve all heard variations of the age-old “Is the glass half-empty or half-full?” analogy. The Catholic Cyber Militiaman investigates this question from a uniquely Roman Catholic perspective!
The Novus Ordo Mass, that masterpiece of post-Vatican II social engineering, was brought to you by this guy Bugnini. Hank Igitur does a little editorializing with the help of an author whose name he can’t quite pronounce…
This medical breakthrough just might be the answer when it comes to helping our bishops and cardinals stand up for the authentic teachings of Holy Mother Church!
President Trump has done more to defend religious liberty and defend the pre-born than any President in modern history. Sadly, too many Catholic prelates reveal their true loyalties when instead of embracing the American President and helping to shape his presidency, they condemn him and dismiss him out of hand. Sure they’ll tell you he is vulgar and had past transgressions; they gladly “throw the baby out with the bath water.” Yes, these are the same men, men who wear miters, who will cover and defend true predators like McCarrick while simultaneously embracing pro-abort CINO politicians such as Cuomo, Pelosi, Durbin and Gillibrand, to name a few.
Isn’t it interesting… we have prelates, supposed shepherds of the Catholic Church, Bishop Foys comes to mind, eager to throw mere children under the bus, demanding their heads roll with absolutely no understanding of the situation on the ground or facts surrounding the Covington Boys incident on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial; meanwhile… sitting comfortably in a friary in Victoria, Kansas, is an 88-year-old archbishop who’d been abusing little boys and seminarians for decades… AND, he still retains his priestly faculties. To make matters worse, in November at the urging of Cardinal Cupich a majority of US Bishops voted to not press Rome on the issue of former Cdl. McCarrick. Among the very few true shepherds there is pack of hellish wolves and they are devouring the faithful. It is way past time to hold ground, the time for purging and actual restoration is upon us.
A miter does not make you a saint and a MAGA hat does not make you a sinner. A man who possesses both a miter and a MAGA hat (even if figuratively), now there’s a man that merits your attention. And if you are privileged to know of such a man, DO NOT make the grave mistake of revealing his name, you’ll have painted an indelible target on him.
A few months ago, LifeSite News reported a new letter from Archbishop Viganò. This letter (see below) urged disgraced pederast Theodore McCarrick to repent, reminding him that “Time is running out, but you can confess and repent of your sins, crimes and sacrileges, and do so publicly, since they have themselves become public. Your eternal salvation is at stake.”
Pray for McCarrick that he can repent in time, and that as his penance he comes clean about not only his crimes, but the entire ball of wax: the Lavender Mafia, the homoheresy rampant in the Church, the St. Galen conspiracy…everything! McCarrick’s immortal soul isn’t the only thing in jeopardy: his ongoing silence continues to damage Holy Mother Church, and continues to imperil the soulds of many Catholics whose faith is being shaken by these crimes and scandals. Pray also that the Pope steps up and aggressively addresses these problems as well.
-Vigano’s Letter to McCarrick-
Dear Archbishop McCarrick,
As has been reported as a news by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the accusations against you for crimes against minors and abuses against seminarians are going to be examined and judged very soon with an administrative procedure.
No matter what decision the supreme authority of the Church takes in your case, what really matters and what has saddened those who love you and pray for you is the fact that throughout these months you haven’t given any sign of repentance. I am among those who are praying for your conversion, that you may repent and ask pardon of your victims and the Church.
Time is running out, but you can confess and repent of your sins, crimes and sacrileges, and do so publicly, since they have themselves become public. Your eternal salvation is at stake.
But something else of great importance is also at stake. You, paradoxically, have at your disposal an immense offer of great hope for you from the Lord Jesus; you are in a position to do great good for the Church. In fact, you are now in a position to do something that has become more important for the Church than all of the good things you did for her throughout your entire life. A public repentance on your part would bring a significant measure of healing to a gravely wounded and suffering Church. Are you willing to offer her that gift? Christ died for us all when we were still sinners (Rom. 5: 8). He only asks that we respond by repenting and doing the good that we are given to do. The good that you are in a position to do now is to offer the Church your sincere and public repentance. Will you give the Church that gift?
I implore you, repent publicly of your sins, so as to make the Church rejoice and present yourself before the tribunal of Our Lord cleansed by His blood. Please, do not make His sacrifice on the cross void for you. Christ, Our Good Lord, continues to love you. Put your entire trust in His Sacred Heart. And pray to Mary, as I and many others are doing, asking her to intercede for the salvation of your soul.
“Maria Mater Gratiae, Mater Misericordiae, Tu nos ab hoste protege et mortis hora suscipe.” Mary Mother of the Grace, Mother of Mercy, protect us from the enemy and welcome us in the hour of death.
Your brother in Christ,
+ Carlo Maria Viganò
